We have enjoyed the versatility
of the Akita for over 20 years. Entering the obedience ring with an
Akita can be a humbling experience. Our accomplishments include
Companion Dogs (CD), Rally Novice (RN), Champions (Ch), Therapy Dog
International (TDI), ATTS Temperament Title (TT), and Canine Good
Citizen (CGC) titled Akitas.
Before breeding our Akitas, they must be structurally sound, healthy
and possess a loving temperament. Keje Akitas are DNA, OFA (hips,
elbows, patellas), CERF normal (annually), and thyroid normal/no
meds (MSU/J. Dodds annually). We do not breed prior to health
clearances or the age of 2 years. Some diseases, such as autoimmune,
PRA, and hypothyroidism normally occur in Akitas over 18 months of
age.
